Packaging Engineer

Our Packaging Engineers are responsible for planning and directing activities associated with design, testing, and development of new packaging ideas. They assist in developing, implementing and maintaining project plans for product distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage packaging development and improvement projects to meet client, company, and regulatory needs for New (NPD) and Legacy Aftermarket products.
  • Support internal production issue and improvement opportunity investigations, root cause determination, and packaging product/process improvements where applicable.
  • Remain current on packaging innovations throughout the industry and proliferate leading technology within the Company.
  • Consult with vendors in the development of packaging for components and materials.
  • Establish supplier quality standards and support supplier audits as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation to meet Company, client, and regulatory expectations.
  • Work with key functions to design packaging using appropriate structure analysis, test methods, design methodologies, feasibility justification, and business case processes.
  • Work with key functions to correctly implement engineering changes from a quality, process, and cost-conscious point of view.
  • Documentation of ISTA testing results and packaging weight and dimensional data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office; CAD Software certification; ability to maintain data library including photographs; Inventor or Solidworks Experience
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; engage and build effective relationships across the organization; provides excellent internal and external customer service

Travel:

Possible local travel to packaging suppliers. No overnight travel anticipated for this role.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be able to pass EVerify.
