Overview: This is a fast-paced management position for a new UI/UX team in Inovalon's Provider business unit. The Senior Manager, UI/UX Engineering has a strong background in software engineering, with specific experience in modern web UI development using Angular, React, or a similar framework. This position requires strong technical capabilities, experience modernizing existing application UIs and building new ones, and the ability to deal with multiple concurrent projects and initiatives. Working in an Agile environment with a team of UI/UX software engineers, you'll help to design and implement a consistent user experience across a number of new and existing Provider applications, build and maintain reusable UI components and shared asset libraries for use by those applications, work with various product teams to implement or update their UX/UI, and promote an upbeat and effective team environment within the fast-growing IT Healthcare Informatics industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead Inovalon's front-end UI/UX team for the Provider business unit to develop and maintain modern UI/UX design, governance and software components, and work with various product teams to help implement those for their respective applications.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge regarding Inovalon products and services in order to implement product development and functionality requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate on-shore and off-shore staff required for the achievement of Inovalon's technology initiatives, operations and functionality.
  • Successfully drive implementation of technical solutions, ensuring that best practices for architecture, design and development are in place.
  • Provide oversight of the UI/UX team, adherence to development timelines and accountability to product designer technical specification needs.
  • Implement a well-designed plan with clear, realistic objectives which deliver on customer commitments as set forth by the business development and product teams.
  • Allocate team members and resources effectively, and act as a buffer between the team and distracting influences, removing impediments to the ability of the team to deliver each sprint's goal.
  • Provide input to employee goals, reviews and ranking exercises and actively mentor engineers.
  • Maintain high level of quality and performance in a massively parallel processing (MPP) architecture.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.

Job Requirements:



  • 10+ years of experience in a software development organization, with some experience in a management capacity.
  • Must have experience operating in a lead role on a successful deployment of applications.
  • Must have a solid understanding of front-end application web UI development and recent relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Angular, React or other modern web application frameworks is required.
  • Experience with other web UI frameworks and supporting technologies, such as ASP.NET, WebForms, PHP, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc. are highly desirable.
  • Must be a methodical and pragmatic problem-solver who inspires confidence and trust with internal staff and users.
  • Must have a strong sense of teamwork, active listening skills and negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Should have experience using Azure DevOps and leading agile development teams.
  • Experience with health care clinical and claims data and the associated regulatory environment a plus.
  • Experience withmobile application development is a plus.
  • Experience managing offshore resources preferred.


Education:



  • BS degree in computer sciences, software design, engineering, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$128,600 $190,000 USD
