The part-time (25 hours per week) Assistant Director is responsible for: coordinating and facilitating a wide variety of student activities, student development programs and student services to meet the diverse needs of students at the campus; creating a welcoming environment that provides opportunities for students to learn, grow, and lead; coordinating a campus-wide co-curricular agenda in collaboration with faculty members; establishing relationships with area school counselors and community partners and representing Bucks at high school visits and community events with focus on recruitment. In the absence of the Campus Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for problem solving and leadership of the Campus. This position directly reports to the Campus Director. Must be available for day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.

Primary Functions:

  • Develop and deliver a vibrant student activity program inclusive of a wide range of co-curricular events and activities.

  • Plan, organize, develop, and implement delivery of campus student services and intake services that include admissions, financial aid, academic advising, registration, testing, transfer planning, career development, and recruitment.

  • In absence of the Campus Director supervise, campus assistants and federal work-study workers, who provide reception, clerical, and special events functions.

  • In absence of the Campus Director, responsible for problem solving and management of campus; responding to local and national emergencies, as needed, and working with the Office of Security and other outside agencies as required.

Secondary Functions:

  • Establish relationships with area schools and represent BCCC at high school visits and community outreach in coordination with the Office of Admissions.

  • Enhance community relations by interfacing with local business, government agencies, and community groups.

  • Act as the liaison between the Newtown Campus and the Upper and Lower Bucks Campuses for the coordination of student activities and events.

  • Coordinate the flow of information on student activities at all College locations including use of social media platforms, flyers, website postings.

  • Assist faculty and staff with technological issues and other campus-related needs.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,300

This position is part-time at 25 hours per week and is eligible for prorated benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.

  • 4-6 years of professional experience in higher education, including student activities, student services, academic advising, recruitment, community involvement, and supervision of others. Demonstrated experience in event and/or conference planning and coordination preferred.

  • Highly developed interpersonal communication, leadership, problem solving and organizational skills to effectively interface with students, faculty, staff members, visitors, internal departments, and external organizations; ability to direct multiple priorities as they relate to working on a team of faculty and staff.

  • Proven leadership skills to effectively develop and implement delivery of campus services and manage campus in absence of Director.
