Job Overview

Arc3 Gases is looking for a qualified individual to fill our Inside Sales Representative position at our Rocky Mount, NC store. As Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving sales of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with welding supplies and related equipment. A successful Inside Sales Representative uses their technical knowledge and sales experience to analyze customers' needs and desires and provide the best product and service solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases along with welding supplies and related equipment to walk-in customers.
    • Assist walk-in customers and aggressively solicit store sales.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a timely manner by answering phone calls, handling customer complaints, providing all necessary paperwork in relation to purchases, retrieving stock, and assisting in loading customer vehicles.
  • Possess strong welding product knowledge and experience to analyze customers' needs and explain the procedures required to achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Anticipate customer needs and expectations (i.e., product orders, potential sales, service issues, technical support needs) and share that vital information with appropriate Arc3 personnel.
  • Notify the purchasing department when there is a shortage or outage of products.
  • Act with integrity and a sense of urgency in order to build strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Obtain/maintain a CDL-B and Hazmat endorsement in order to drive a commercial vehicle to deliver products to customers, as business needs dictate.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Provide support to other team members by preparing orders and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
  • Assist with inventory, housekeeping, showroom displays, and demonstrations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Welding or Technical Education is preferred.
  • Must have computer skills or some knowledge of computer order entry system.
  • Must be willing to obtain Class B CDL and Hazmat endorsement.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, ability to work independently, self-motivated, and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Must have experience using handheld devices.
  • TIMS experience is a plus.
  • Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience handling compressed gases preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent sitting and standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Transportation and handling of Hazardous Materials such as compressed gases.
  • Ability to independently and routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs.
  • Ability to independently and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
  • Frequent bending also required.
  • Must operate a forklift and obtain forklift certification.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Steel-toe or Safety-toe boots required.
  • Retail store environment and computer work.
