JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Smeal College of Business is seeking to fill the role of Academic Course Coordinator, who will act as the Course Coordinator for the Finance Department's large-format courses with approximately 1,800 - 2,100 students enrolled per academic year. This position will be responsible for the overall student interaction for the Department's large-format courses. This includes but is not limited to

  • Overseeing grading processes, class advising, virtual and in person communication
  • Holding office hours, working with multiple course instructors, coordinating with other Penn State colleges and business units
  • Coordinating the course registration process
  • Overseeing the hiring, training, and supervision of multiple teaching assistants to help achieve the objectives for each course

The successful candidate will work with excel worksheets, perform summary statistical analysis, interact with partner data, and develop forms and procedures to help manage students and associated course activities. This position will need to communicate with faculty and other department staff and college/university partners. Confidentiality and integrity of course data and student records are a central aspect of the job.

This role requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with performing summary statistical analysis, using Office 365 applications, Excel, Canvas, LionPATH, 25 Live, Capsim, and Workday is preferred.

This is a 9-month (Fall and Spring semesters), non-exempt Full Time Equivalency (FTE) position at 75%. This position works 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00 with some evening commitments and the opportunity for flexible scheduling. Full Penn State benefits included.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
