Now Hiring: Join Central City Concern' Fantastic Hooper Detox team as a SUDS Counselor (On-Call)

Location: Central City Concern - Hooper Detoxifications Stabilization Center (HDSC; 1535 N. Williams Avenue, Portland 97227)

Schedule/Shift Options: Monday - Sunday (*7:30am - 6:00pm)

*Note: Start time is flexible. Any time between 7am - 9am is appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIREMENTS)

***Note: In order to be granted formal consideration for the SUDS Counselor position, please ensure your professional/working experience reflects the following requirements below:



  1. Required: High School Diploma or GED
  2. Required: The following CADC certifications are a prerequisite for employment...


    1. SUDS Counselor R requires a CADC R certification
    2. SUDS Counselor I requires CADC I
    3. SUDS Counselor II requires CADC II




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  1. Advanced degree.



SUMMARY: The SUDS Counselor works as a member of a treatment team providing substance abuse treatment and case management. The team works to address all treatment needs, including crisis management, substance abuse treatment, physical health management, mental health management, accessing affordable housing, accessing employment and educational opportunities. This position has access to mental health billing and service records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Conduct screening and assessment of potential clients to determine treatment needs, placement, and diagnosis; develop an individualized treatment plan to reflect these
  2. Participate in direct treatment of clients by:




    1. Attending clinical staff meeting and case conferences in order to facilitate individual treatment plans for clients;
    2. Providing group counseling to clients as needed.
    3. Provide case management to clients on an as-needed basis




  1. Conduct treatment groups and provide individual counseling as needed
  2. Adhere to agency norms for completion of all clinical documentation, including but not limited to assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, monthly reports to referral sources, and service conclusion summaries
  3. Participate in all Quality Assurance activities.
  4. Participate in clinical meetings.
  5. Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  6. Document client services in electronic health records within 72 hours.
  7. Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.



COUNSELOR II ADDITIONAL DUTIES



  1. Supervise practicum students when needed

  10. Ability to provide quality documentation in an electronic health record within 72 hours of service provided.
