Police Academy (UPJ) Job Summary Gains the necessary skills to successfully graduate from the Police Academy and attain MPOETC certification. Accompanies police officers in conducting patrols, enforcing laws, and responding to calls. Develops and enhances skills and understanding of laws, policies, and procedures. Recruits potential candidates, provides program information, and attends promotional events. Essential Functions 70% of the Time: Develop skills in law enforcement. 30% of the Time: Speak with potential candidates regarding the program over phone, email, and/or department sanctioned social media accounts. The successful candidate will receive an hourly Academy rate. An educational expense agreement will compensate Act 120 Academy Tuition, room, and meal plan. Physical Effort Pass an academy entrance exam (1.5-mile run, push-ups and sit-ups.)
